2012-2013 Concert Series: Year of the Dance

Our season-opening concert will feature the Russian-born, Brooklyn-based violinist, Misha Keylin, performing SIBELIUS Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 47.

Internationally recognized Misha Keylin has earned critical and popular acclaim since his New York Carnegie Hall début at age 11. Mr. Keylin is attracting particular attention with his world-premiere complete CD series of the seven Henry Vieuxtemps violin concertos, released by Naxos. His recordings have already sold over 120,000 copies worldwide and garnered numerous press accolades and awards such as “Critic’s Choice” by The New York Times, Gramophone and The Strad.

King Ranch Holiday Spectacular - Yeehaw to Yule!
Guest conductor Lee Gwozdz returns to thoroughly entertain with his musical selections, humor and garnered audience participation. The Corpus Christi Cathedral Cabaret is slated to perform to add to the festivities.

Gwozdz returns yet again to Jones Auditorium as conductor of the King Ranch Holiday Spectacular - Yeehaw to Yule! Many will remember him as HoLEEwood and LEROY Gwozdz for our past four King Ranch Holiday Spectaculars. He serves as director of music for the Diocese and Cathedral of Corpus Christi, as Executive Director of The Cathedral Concert Series and as conductor of the Cathedral Festival Orchestra.

KSO welcomes spring with classical music selections depicting “Year of the Dance.” The program also includes Mexican dances by The Kingsville Youth Ballet Folklorico.

Under the artistic direction of Miguel A. Briseno, the Kingsville Youth Ballet Folklorico performs dances promoting the culture and customs of Mexico.



July 4, 2013 • 3 pm

A Patriotic Celebration
KSO celebrates the 4th of July with patriotic music and virtual fireworks! All branches of the military will be recognized and honored.

Veterans and active duty military will be admitted free of charge.
